Warsteiner Partnership
18 December 2023
We're delighted to announce the addition of a new long-term partner to our portfolio.
Warsteiner is a 9th generation family brewery, owned and operated by the Cramers since 1753, managed by Catharina Cramer since 2012.
The brewery's roots can be traced back to Antonius Cramer being requested to pay tax on his beer for the first time, his homebrewing passion project having exceeded the maximum volume allowed.
Flash forward a few centuries and his descendants have built a globally renowned brewing dynasty based on their exceptional Pilsner.
We're proud to be exclusive distributors in the UK for Warsteiner, and it is our joint ambition to elevate Warsteiner with like-minded trade customers and consumers to create a national brand synonymous with the high-quality lager brewing that Germany is internationally famous for.
Stock will be available to order from the 2nd of January. For samples requested by customers we deliver to directly these will be fulfilled with your next order after that date.

Existing Warsteiner Customer Info
Should you already be pouring Warsteiner, supplied by either Carlsberg Marston's, or another route to market, we want to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.
Fresh keg stock of Warsteiner will be available to order from James Clay and Sons from Tuesday the 2nd. However, should your existing supplier be unable to fulfil in advance of that date, please contact us and we will ensure consistency of supply.
As a direct import from Germany, our supply of kegs will come in Warsteiner branded kegs. Please make sure to return any empty Carslberg/Marston's branded kegs via your existing process. We will not be able to uplift these kegs.
The coupler required for the new kegs will be an A-type Slide On coupler. For existing Warsteiner customers we will happily send a new coupler to you free of charge. If you are unsure about how to change your coupler, please watch this video guide on how to do this. Alternatively, if you are unable to change the coupler yourself, we can arrange for an engineer to visit and change this for you.
If you have any questions, or concerns about the transition phase, please don't hesitate to contact us on sales@jamesclay.co.uk and we will help you out.
