COVID-19 Service Update
12 June 2020
James Clay and Sons is committed to safeguarding our colleagues while ensuring our customers continue to receive their deliveries as smoothly as possible during this period. Our office has a rigorous disinfection regime and strict social distancing rules are in place. Our deliveries are being made subject to new delivery guidelines
Deliveries: The team are working hard to maintain our pre Covid-19 delivery patterns but we would ask for your flexibility and understanding should your normal delivery day have to change for any substantive reason. We ask you to help minimise the risk to our employees by following our delivery guidelines.
Customer Services: Our northern Head Office remains open with a skeleton team to ensure vital functions such as finance and customer support continue to operate. This office is providing cover for our regional office teams which are closed. Our support for customers remains in place be it payment issues, general advice or to fulfil orders for customer able to operate safely within government guidelines*. We ask you to place order by email wherever possible to ease pressure on the reduced office team.
Our finance team are ensuring payroll is met for all staff and are working to best support customers and suppliers in a difficult financial period. Our phones are being manned if you have any questions.
Stock Availability: We are maintaining good levels of stock availability across our core range of packaged products. There are a small number of exceptions to this as breweries reduce the regularity of production leading to longer lead times in the supply chain which may occasionally lead to a slight delay in restocking. Alongside the core range we are also continuing to source a selection of seasonal and limited release beers which will appear on the website alongside our regular customer mailers. The Listed and Limited sections of our website shows live availability across both ranges and we invite you to use the search options to find a suitable alternative should your first option not be available.
Spoilt Beer: HRMC relaxed rules allowing pub operators to dispose of beer themselves. Please DO NOT undertake this task yourself for James Clay and Sons purchased stock as it may prevent us passing on brewery support for out of date stock. We are working closely with our brewery partners to support operators with spoilt stock and will be in touch in due course with further guidance.
While the situation continues to evolve, we recommend you call our Head Office (01422 377560), should you have any further questions or business requirements.
